Today is the day! The new road to our neighborhood officially opens! No more detours and convoluted directions to get people to our house. Just get off on exit 28 off I-77, turn right and you'll be at our front door.
As you can see in the picture above, the road leading into our neighborhood used to be a dead end and has been a construction zone for the past year. Now, they've put all the wiring and utilities underground (looks much better), put up new lamps, crosswalks, and lights, and finally finished creating and paving the new entrance to our neighborhood. While it's been done for about a week now, we've had to wait until today at 2:00 for the ribbon cutting ceremony to use the new and quite convenient new entrance! YAY!
Here's a pic of the new entrance from this morning (yes I took it while driving, Oprah would be ashamed)...and, as of this afternoon, it will be minus all of the "road closed" signs!
