Puppy Milestone

I can't believe it. My little puppy is all grown up. Yesterday (April 3), Midas turned 5! He's officially older than his parents. We're looking out for signs of a mid-life crisis, but he still seems like his spunky self despite more and more gray forming around his eyes and mouth these days. I thought we'd take a little trip down memory lane for a sec...

Midas the day Jeff's parents picked him out from his litter-mates as the best of the bunch (looking very regal in his sphinx pose, which he still does)...

The day he came home to us (seven weeks old).... such a happy pup (and doesn't his dad look so young in this pic??)

And what does a 5 year old golden retriever do for his birthday? He goes on a hike in the mountains and chases some cows, swims in a few rivers, then comes home to his mom, goes on a long walk to see his beaver friends, and gets a extra large dinner! Of course he found a stick on our walk, so we had to take it along...
